Since I finished the series I was just reading I needed another book to read. I just grabbed this book off the shelf really quick. This book is about this boy named Alem. Alem parents are from Ethiopia and Eritrean. Now these two countries are at war and his parents are either called traitors or the enemy, Alem is called a mut and is not welcome in either country.
Alem's Father took him to America so he would not be in the middle of the war between the two countries.
Little did Alem know that his father would leave him there....
Alem is put into a foster family that helps refugees like him. Alem is trying to become a Citizen in the U.S. but they keep on rejecting his case. In his second trial Alem finds out that his mother has been murdered.... Alem is very scared for his father at this point he wonders
